You won’t struggle to find bottled water in Jamaica, but there are a few brands that people reach for over and over again.
They’re popular for a reason, good taste, good quality, easy to find (and they’re the ones I’d recommend to anyone visiting). Here’s a simple breakdown of the ones worth grabbing when you’re here.
But, before we dive into the list, let’s address the question visitors always start with.
Is Bottled Water in Jamaica Safe? (YES, Here’s Why)
Jamaican bottled water is completely safe to drink, it’s what we use daily with no issues. Any company that bottles water for retail must be registered with:
- The Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ)
- The National Compliance and Regulatory Authority (NCRA)
Both agencies require regular testing to make sure bottled water meets Jamaica’s compulsory standards for purity, microbiological safety, and proper labelling.
If the bottle is from a recognized Jamaican brand, it has already passed strict safety checks long before it reaches your hand.

1. Catherine’s Peak – The Local Favorite (Best Taste)
Catherine’s Peak is that Blue Mountain spring water that just hits different, crisp, clean, pure refreshment straight from the source. It’s my personal #1; I always keep it stocked at home because the taste never gets old and nothing else compares.
- Where to Find It: Very common in hotels, nice restaurants, and almost every major supermarket.
- The Gold Standard. You’ll often see this served at business meetings or upscale restaurants, it’s the clear sign an establishment values quality.
2. WATA – The People’s Champ (Most Available)
WATA is the undisputed king of “yuh cyaa miss it”. Whether you’re in Kingston, Montego Bay, or the deepest countryside, this blue-label bottle is EVERYWHERE.
- Why it’s essential: Roadside cooler, cook shop, bar, taxi, gas station, or one lonely shop in the hills, if it’s open, it has cold WATA.
- The go-to: Neutral taste, ice-cold cheap, and made by Wisynco. When you just need water right now, this is it. Grab and go!
3. Lasco iCool Water – The Budget MVP
iCool is straight-up the cheapest way to stay hydrated. It’s clean, safe, and does exactly what it says on the label, no fancy taste, just good value from a trusted Jamaican brand.
- Why it’s a winner for your wallet: It’s literally a few dollars cheaper per liter than the others, so if you’re looking to save money, this is it.
- Taste expectation: It’s purified, perfectly fine, but not crisp like Catherine’s Peak. When budget matters more than flavor, iCool is the move.
4. Lifespan Spring Water – Naturally Alkaline
Lifespan is that smooth, silky, naturally alkaline spring water that low-key feels fancy without the price tag.
- Why it’s popular: Purple label, light taste, around pH 8.0, people who care about alkaline swear by it, and I love it too.
- My rec: Easy to find in supermarkets and petrol stations. If you want spring water that feels different (in a good way), this is your guy.
5. 876 Spring Water – Solid Alternative
Straight from the Blue Mountain’s, 876 is spring water that does the job perfectly.
- Why it makes the list: Not as flashy as the big names, but it’s legit spring water you’ll spot in Kingston, tourist areas, and random supermarkets.
- Great backup: When Catherine’s Peak sells out. Real local option, no hype needed.
Imported Bottled Water in Jamaica (Available, but Not Worth It)

You’ll see the big foreign brands around the island, mainly in resorts, airports, and upscale supermarkets.
If you want something familiar, you can grab them… but honestly, they’re overpriced and don’t taste better than our local spring water.
Common imported brands you’ll spot:
- Fiji
- Evian
- SmartWater
- Voss
- Perrier / San Pellegrino (sparkling only)
At the end of the day, Jamaica’s own water brands will treat you right. Trust the local stuff, it’s what we drink, and it never disappoints.
Smart Tips for Buying Water in Jamaica
Don’t Stress Availability: Honestly, you can get bottled water anywhere. You will not struggle to find a bottle, from the most populated city to a remote roadside shop in the hills.
Go Bulk at the Supermarket: The cheapest move is grabbing a full case at the local supermarket. A case of 24 is always way cheaper than buying singles every day.
The 5-Gallon Budget Hack: Staying for a while? Hit up local “water stores” and refill a reusable 5-gallon bottle for a fraction of the cost. Catherine’s Peak even sells spring water jugs (often delivered in major towns). Just note: those things are heavy, make sure you’ve got transport.
Always Have Water: Finally, remember: Jamaica is hot! Whether you’re hiking, beach hopping, or stuck in Kingston traffic, always keep water close. You’ll thank yourself.
